niceee-but i do think its selfish.....but ppl do need distractions in this depressing world....i have a friend who gets the shit beat out of her every night and she cuts bc she feels the it is an escape-i have a friend who was raped..and she cuts to stop thinking of the fact that past age 8-she could never honestly say she is a virgin....we all have our different reasons all they all make total sense....but if we do kill ourselves, its bc we wanted to escape, and the ppl who actually care, probably knew we were doing it and didnt try to stop...so arent they the ones being selfish? |

while i feel very sorry for the people you guys are talking about you got raped and beat and <3MCR i dont think cutting should ever even be something you consider. because
1) there are so many other ways you can deal w/ something w/ out hurting yourself and others around you
2) there are also a lot of other ways to escape...i used to be really depressed but i used music to escape not cutting. it works better and its harmless.
3) sorry to go all religious on you guys but honestly not only is suicide a terrible selfish thing to do but its playing god.
and i dont mean to attack you guys who have problems w/ this and cut yourselves, but honestly its not actually helping anything its causing more problems. im totally against cutting and all that. |

I’m sorry but if it’s helping you cope with life and get on and smile then sure, and if killing yourself is selfish then so is dying?
Aslong as you don’t parade it about and rub it in peoples faces etc.
I guess self harm takes you away from reality for a while, the pain is a wonderful distracting thing. It makes your mind wander, you become dependant on it. It gives you adrenaline and that boosts you it makes you happier thats how you become dependant, i’m sorry but these are my own personal opinions |

It is extreamly selfish, on your friends, family and the people who they know.
Self harming is a pitifull, attention seeking way of: "I want attention"
I understand that not all SH do it for attention, but for christs sake, if making yourself bleed is ’good’ then I don’t know what todays society is like. |

I’ll admit i self harmed, but it was for my own reasons not to get attention!
dont think some people who have self harmed feel ashamed for what they’ve done?
knowin that they can never look themselves or other people in the eye?
me?my best friend betrayed me when i confided in her n she publicly himiliated me fro weeks people gave me shit, offerin me razors, etc.
from all that i find it hard to trust anyone now... |

It’s not like your hurting them is it?
and tbhh most self harmers feel like others don’t care, so they find it not selfish.
How can you say it’s pityfull when people live by that? That’s how people live, they don’t all do it for attention most of them do it for a way to cope. A way to handle there emotions.
Self harm has been going on for decades so i personally don’t understand what you mean by today society... also if dropping a nucleur bomb is fine then we’re all fucked? |

ok, i get what ur all saying, ans pike, ive been where u hav. i told my best friend that i cut and why i did it (long story) and she just blabbed to our whole fuckin scool. now im not saying everyone is wrong, but cutting isnt a lifestyle, its a temptation. once u do it, and u think it helps solve ur problems, u want to do it again and again, until u end up regreting everything and then turn to the blade again bc ur depressed and lonely. i will never stop cutting until i eventually can be happy. my life (and basically everyone else’s) is boring and depressing, and when pl cut, once atleast one drop of blood drips, u feel relieved |

Kim.a- When I stupidly self harmed it affected my frieds ad my family greatly. My mother was worried sick, my father stopped talking to be and my friends did, also. How the fuck can cutting yourself solve your problems, people have to talk about it, cutting is a pathetic excuse, and nobody should do it, becasue someone in the world is going though so much worse.
Self harm for decades? Hardly. It’s the’trend’ I bet half of th people who did it is because it was all "Emo" and "in" and, quite frankly, anything to do with self harming is stupid, pathetic, childish, selfish and dosn’t help at all. |
