Previous single What I’ve Done never really convinced me that Linkin Park’s long-awaited third album would be worth a listen. Admittedly it embraced a more mature sound, as would probably be expected but compared to the fare of Hybrid Theory and Meteora there was little sense of the group’s identity. With Bleed It Out the guys merge their development with the high-octane fuel that has propelled them to the position of one of the world’s most popular bands. The leading rap/ rock intro is akin to a Rage Against The Machine without a cause to address.
This should be no surprise thanks to the production and guidance of guru Rick Rubin alongside Mike Shinoda. With a catchy hook and infectious guitar strains throughout this is definitely Linkin Park back to somewhere near their very best.
